Welcome to Hines Primary School
 Our school is located on Knoxville Avenue in Peoria, Illinois. It is home to 475 Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students and 60 staff members. Our multicultural learning community is a vibrant union of talented students, staff, parents, and community. John Hines Primary School began as a one room school house in 1840, and has flourished into a three level brick structure over the past 168 years. We invite you to visit our website to learn more about our history and the many current wonders of our learning community.
As the principal of John Hines Primary for the past four years, it is a pleasure to serve this community! I have the privilege of working with excellent teams of highly qualified teachers, dedicated staff members, committed parents and community members. Together we continue to enjoy the challenges and rewards of providing quality learning opportunities for everyone.
It has been an honor to become an Illinois Spotlight School for three consecutive years, 2005, 2006, and 2007! We continue to strive for excellence in everything we do!
Our office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Children arrive at 8:30 a.m. for school to begin at 8:45. Dismissal time is 3:15 p.m. Our extended school program begins at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. for those families who wish to enroll. Chili Supper
The Chili Supper will be Thursday, November 6, 5:00- 6:30. This event will go along with Family Night at the Book Fair. Come along and bring your appetite!!!!!!!!!!!
